Germanna Community College Drivers Ed Class

Driver's Ed Classroom Training ---------- $179
This class is required by the state for drivers under the age of 19 and is certified by the VA Department of Education. This class is for the beginner driver and for those that have failed their driving test more than three times. If you are a Virginia resident, 19 years of age or older and you have never held a license issued by any state, U.S. territory or foreign country, you must hold a Virginia learner's permit for at least 30 days or show completion of a state-approved driver education program. Instruction includes alcohol safety, drug abuse awareness, aggressive driving, distracted driving, motorcycle awareness, organ donation awareness and more. Attendance is mandatory and upon passing the in-class test, you will receive a Driver's Ed Completion card. This course provides the classroom training only and does not include behind-the-wheel instruction.

The Sarah Lanier Tabb Oliver Memorial Scholarship

James Madison University is offering a renewable scholarship, available to a female first-year student who not only exhibits extreme financial need, but also demonstrates academic success. The Sarah Lanier Tabb Oliver Memorial Scholarship endowed by the TOWN Foundation, a philanthropic organization based in Norfolk, Virginia, is an incredible resource available to one additional student each year. Will to Win Scholarship

Merck Respiratory will again sponsor the Will to Win Scholarship Program for high school seniors with asthma who are pursuing higher education. The program serves to demonstrate to young people with asthma that the condition, when properly treated and managed, need not impede their ability to excel. Scholarships of $5000 will be awarded to two deserving HS seniors in each of the following five categories:
Performing Arts
Visual Arts
Community Service
Athletics
Science

The Maxine M. Newell Scholarship

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is offering a $500 scholarship to an outstanding HS graduate in need of financial assistance. The student must be pursuing a degree in a field that will benefit children. Applications must be postmarked by April 5, 2011. The Maude B. Murchison Scholarship

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is offering $500 - $1000 scholarship to outstanding female high school seniors in need of financial assistance. Applications must be postmarked by April 5, 2011. See Mrs. Zambeck for additional qualifications and application.

Bob Jones Press

BJU Press is offering a Ministry Scholarship for those students that will be attending Bob Jones University in the School of Religion or the School of Education. Please see Mrs. Zambeck if you are interested.

NSWC Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Members of NSWC Federal Credit Union are eligible for this $1000 Scholarship. Applicants are required to write an essay on "How I plan to help others by furthering my education."
